Elijah Waring

Elijah Waring (c. 1788-1857) was a journalist who moved from his native Hampshire to Neath. He published the short-lived Cambrian Visitor and was a close friend of the ageing Iolo Morganwg, who enjoyed regaling him with anecdotes about his life. He became famous for his influential biography of Iolo, Recollections and Anecdotes of Edward Williams, which was serialized in the Cambrian in 1827 and appeared as a separate volume in 1850.
